Occupational Safety and Health
All places of employment contain seen and unseen hazards which, if uncontrolled, can result in an employee injury and worker’s compensation claim. Employers are required by OSHA, to identify and control these hazards. Hausmann-Johnson’s loss control director is an employer’s first contact when there is a need to assess the workplace for these hazards.

While Safety hazards can be seen, health hazards are best identified by a qualified Industrial Hygienist. Hausmann-Johnson’s loss control director is a qualified Industrial Hygienist and provides this service as well.
  

Ergonomics
Musculo-skeletal disorders, those injuries/illness caused by ergonomic hazards, represent the largest and most expensive injury group. Identifying and controlling ergonomic hazards is a time consuming and expensive process. Ergonomic injuries are not only caused by physical hazard but are also the result of inappropriate behavior. HJI’s Loss Control director has the experience and resources to help you identify and control the ergonomic hazards in your workplace.
  

Fleet Safety
Do you have a fleet of company-owned vehicles? Do your employees drive all over the State or across the country as they conduct your business? If so, then you need a fleet safety program.

Fleet Safety is all about monitoring the driving habits of your employees, as they operate a company vehicle. Would you want an employee with several speeding tickets operating your company vehicle? Have you considered restricting the use of a cell phone while driving?

HJI’s Loss Control Director can provide you with the materials and the expertise to design and develop an effective Fleet Safety Program.
  

Employee Drug Testing
Employee Drug Testing is no longer limited to your CDL holders. Have you considered implementing employee drug testing but were afraid of potential discrimination issues or uncomfortable with the cost of sending them to a lab for a urine test?

The technology exists which reduces the cost and eliminates the inconveniences of employee drug testing. Governments are making it easier for employers to implement a “Drug-Free” workplace. A claim of discrimination can now be eliminated by following simple procedures.
